A 4ª edição dos Critic's Choice Television Awards, aconteceu na noite de quinta (19), e teve como principais vencedoras as séries Orange Is The New Black, que levou as categorias Melhor Série de Comédia, Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante em Comédia (Kate Mulgrew) e Melhor Participação Especial em Comédia (Uzo Aduba), e Breaking Bad, que venceu a categoria Melhor Série de Drama e Melhor Ator Coadjuvante ( Aaron Paul).
Ainda na categoria Drama, o destaque ficou para atriz Tatiana Maslany, do sensacional seriado "Orphan Black". Ela venceu a categoria Melhor Atriz, prêmio super merecido, visto que a atriz interpreta vários clones em Orphan Black, com múltiplas personalidades.
A minissérie Fargo, spin-off do filme homônimo de 1996, dirigido pelos irmãos Coen, concorria a 5 prêmios e levou 3: Melhor Minissérie, Melhor Ator em Filme ou Minissérie (Billy Bob Thornton) e Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante em Filme ou Minissérie (Allison Tolman). A primeira temporada deveria ser a única, mas com o sucesso e hype da série, uma 2ª temporada com uma história diferente, já está sendo pensada.
Matthew McConaughey venceu na categoria Melhor Ator em Drama, desbancando o ator Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), pela grande estreia do ano, o seriado da HBO, True Detective.
Ainda na HBO, o telefilme "The Normal Heart", de Ryan Murphy, levou as categorias Melhor Filme e Melhor Ator Coadjuvante em Filme ou Minissérie (Matt Bomer).
Jessica Lange, a suprema, levou o prêmio de Melhor Atriz em Filme ou Minissérie, por American Horror Story: Coven.
Ryan Murphy foi o grande homenageado da noite, com o prêmio LOUIS XIII Genius Award, criado para homenagear um ícone na indústria da televisão, apresentado pelo Jim Parsons . Ryan Murphy é o criador, escritor e diretor da série vencedora do Emmy "American Horror Sory"; Screen Actors da Fox, vencedor do Emmy por Glee e criador da premiada série do FX Nip /Tuck. O mais recente projeto como diretor de Murphy foi a adaptação da HBO do premiado The Normal Heart, de Larry Kramer, que foi indicado a cinco CCTAs.
